Three black stoneware vases with long, straight necks — produced on the wheel in Fernando Durao’s Buenos Aires studio. The defining form of this set is the transition from body to neck: generous, rounded volumes that narrow into tall, upright columns without interruption. A single continuous line, thrown in one movement.
Each vase is fired at 1200°C in high-fire stoneware and finished with Fernando’s custom black mineral slip — brush-applied by hand, layer by layer. The formula has been developed over 35 years of studio practice, using raw materials: iron oxides, feldspars, silica. No commercial glazes. The surface carries the mark of the brush as a quality, not a flaw.
This is a one-of-a-kind handmade ceramic art set. The three forms were thrown and selected together — they work as a group and as individual objects. Once sold, this grouping will not be reproduced.
Each piece ships with a signed certificate of authenticity from the artist.
