Moradores

Moradores are not vases. They are presences.

A series of abstract figurative ceramic sculptures thrown on the wheel in Fernando Durao’s Buenos Aires studio — each one a study in form, tension, and stillness. The name comes from the Spanish word for inhabitants: objects that don’t decorate a space, but occupy it. They settle on a shelf or table and reorganize the room around them without asking permission.

Each sculpture is handmade in high-fire stoneware, fired at 1200°C, and finished with a satin glaze applied by brush. No two are alike. No mold was used. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind ceramic art object, shipped with a signed certificate of authenticity.
